Repentance
Here is a topic we need to understand. Repentance is valid throughout the Bible. Repentance is the way forward towards God. If we repent of our sins, God erases. But if we do not repent, these sins will remain registered.
Jeremiah 8:6 I paid attention, and I listened, they do not speak rightly, there is a person who repents of his wickedness, saying, What have I done? All they return to their race, as the horse rushes into the battle.
Jeremiah 26:3 Perhaps they will listen and they will return every one from his evil way; and I repent Me of the evil that I thought to do unto them because of the evil of their doings.
Jeremiah 6:10 if it does what is evil in My sight, not listening to My voice, I repent Me of the good that I want him to say.
We already see in these verses the need to repent, a blessing is promised to us by God to His people who are right heart and unblemished. But if we do not repent, then we are responsible for our sins, and the wages of sin is death.
Ezekiel 24:14 I the LORD, I spoke, it will happen, and I will; I do go back, I do have pity, and I do not repent Me. They judge thee according to thy ways, and according to thy doings, saith the Lord GOD.
The New Testament is a continuity, it does not change. It emphasizes the process by baptism:
Mark 1:4 John came baptizing in the wilderness and preaching a baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.
Mark 6:12 And being gone, they preached that men should repent,
This repentance gives us access to heaven.
Acts 11:18 And having heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, God has indeed given to the Gentiles repentance to life!
Luke 5:32 I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
Luke 13:3 No, I tell you; but unless you repent, you will all perish in the same way.
Either before or after baptism, sin remains the same man who was found in the marriage without her white dress was bound and thrown out.
Matthew 22:
11 And the king came to see those guests, he saw there a man who was not wearing a wedding dress.
12 And he said unto him, Friend, how did you get in here without a wedding garment? And he was speechless.
13 Then the king said to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, take him away, and cast him into outer darkness, there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
14 For there are many called, but few chosen.
Romans 2:
4 Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, and His patience, and His long wait, not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?
5 But according to your hardness and your impenitent heart you are storing for yourself wrath in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God,
Repentance: ask God for forgiveness for a fault committed, which ?.. We are saved by faith in Jesus and repentance ;;
2 Corinthians 24:21 disorders, and being returned again among you, my God will humble me as to you, and I am not distressed during many who have sinned before and have not repented of the uncleanness and fornication and lasciviousness which they have committed.
Hebrews 6:1 Therefore leaving the word of the beginning of Christ, let us go to the state of grown men, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and faith in God,
2 Timothy 2:
25 teacher gently opponents, meanwhile if God perhaps will not give them repentance to the acknowledging of truth,
26 and they will not wake up from the snare of the devil, by whom they were taken, to do his will.
1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
Remember that he who sins is of the devil, who is of God doth not commit sin. We sin, but we repent and forsake that sin through Jesus who is strong for us, and allows us to overcome our weaknesses.
1 John 3:
8 He that committeth sin is of the devil, because from the beginning the devil has sinned. It is for this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
9 Whosoever is born of God practices sin, because His seed abides in him, and he can not sin, because he is born of God.
10 By this are manifest the children of God and children of the devil,
John 5:14 After these things Jesus found him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, you are healed; sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.
Brothers, I invite you to become aware of this document. Repentance is necessary for salvation. Asks God to forgive your sins, and not do it again. If you're weak sense in sin, implore Jesus who conquered everything for you. But know that if you continue on this path of sin, then you are dead ....
Hebrews 6:
4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Spirit,
5 and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the world to come,
6 who have fallen, to renew them again to repentance, crucifying to themselves the Son of God and put him to shame.
Luke 15:7 I tell you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety to nine righteous persons who need no repentance.
Luke 17:3 Take heed to yourselves. If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him;
Viewing these verses, they are the scourge for the ungodly and sinners, for those who have not found it useful to repent, they preferred to harden their heart ...
Hebrews 12:17 because you know that, too, later, wishing to inherit the blessing, he was rejected (because he found no place of repentance), though he sought it carefully with tears.
Revelation 2:
5 Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; otherwise, I come to you and remove your lampstand from its place, unless you repent.
21 And I gave her time to repent; and she does not want to repent of her fornication.
22 Behold, I cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, unless they repent of her works;
Revelation 9:
20 And the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, not to pay homage to the demons, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass , and stone, and of wood, which can neither see, nor hear, nor walk:
21 and they did not repent of their murders, nor of their magic or their fornication, nor of their thefts.
Revelation 16:
9 And men were scorched with great heat; and they blasphemed the name of God who has power over these plagues: and they repented not to give Him glory.
11 and they blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and repented not of their deeds.
